INSTALLING OMNET Make sure you have installed it correctly. How do you know that it is installed correctly? Here are few points to check:

b. The samples simulations in the samples directory. Check whether these samples can be run. How? Here is the example for tictoc sample for version omnetpp-3.2p1-src (works on windows xp and visual c++ 2005 professional).

C:\omnetpp>cd samples

C:\omnetpp\samples>cd tictoc

C:\omnetpp\samples\tictoc>tictoc

c. Materials from the omnet community.
d. As for omnet with visual c++, you have to make sure that folder msvc exits and you did not receive any msvc error during omnet installation.

a. The simulation systems. The for example omnet main folder for version omnetpp-3.2p1-src (works on windows xp and visual c++ 2005 professional) should contain:

C:\omnetpp>dir

INSTALLING OMNET Make sure you have downloaded the right version or suite. How do you know that it is the right version? Here are few points to check:

• Probably the one that suits your operating systems type, either windows, red had, knoppix, ubuntu , etc
• Probably the one that suits your operating systems version, either windows 2000, windows xp, etc
• Probably the one that have or supports the protocols that you want to simulate, such as MIPV6, HMIPV6, etc.
• Probably the one that works or compatible with the software or application that you are planning to use, such as OMNET with Visual C++, etc.
